When you'd like something other than lemon water:
 When you're willing to try eastern medicine: tiger warmer with moxa sticks.
 Light the moxa stick and stick inside the brass tube. Rub the ventilated side on your area needing attention (in my case, it is around my ears - 5 minutes each side, to stimulate the removal of fluid from my inner ear - yay, allergies!).
 I've been doing it everyday since Sunday, as prescribed by my acupuncturist. I don't know if it is helping, but the heat is soothing (and the moxa sticks are a low odor similar to incense but smokeless).

When you attempt to make a homemade reuben-esque sandwich:
 Farmer's Wheat Bread, classic kraut, Just Thousand, Bubbie's dill pickle, and Benevolent Bacon.
One spear sliced up, toasted bread with all of the toppings (the Benevolent Bacon I heated in skillet with cooking spray to crisp it up).  I did place the other toast on top and cut the sandwich before diving in. It is spectacular. I've had it twice this week!

End of Spring Break

What a whirlwind break it was! Yesterday was so busy, I didn't get home until 9:30pm and I didn't want to put up this post so late. So, here is a quick run down of the rest of my break: 36 hour trip to Kansas to pick up Grandma and bring her back to Colorado.  She's here for about 10 days.

 When we arrived back in town, all I wanted was pho.
 As mentioned previously, I'm trying to create a healthy gut so in addition to acidophilus I picked up these (thanks Hillary of Vegan Peace for the recommendation!)
 Yesterday was so busy, I did my weekly grocery shop at 7:30am. Ha ha! I'm bringing a veggie tray and hummus to our family midday Easter meal.  I picked up these tulips for my own enjoyment.
Is it too early to start counting down the last nine weeks of school? No? ;)

Mid-week Spring Break

Appointments, errands, workout classes, and catching up with friends has been the name of the game. Speaking of games - there was a game night last night (I brought TJ's tater tots and dipping sauces - it was a hit!) where I learned to play One Night Ultimate Werewolf, which is an app and board game combined into one. Otherwise, one errand I thought I might share is that I ordered a backpack from REI and had it delivered to the store.  This REI is located in a former train museum.

 The interior is similarly rustic, with a giant climbing wall in the center.
I haven't owned a backpack since high school/early college (when I switched to a messenger bag), and I want one for traipsing around in June when I head overseas (hint, hint).  It was on clearance, and I thought it was super cute.
A couple of meals over the last two days include: whole wheat pasta with marinara and veggie parm, steamed kale with TJ's everything bagel seasoning.

I intend to post on Saturday, as Easter will be very busy with a lot of family in town and prepping to return to work.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Spring Break Weekend

It's here! It's spring break! Here's a bit of what I've been up to this weekend:
 I know this drink has been around for a minute, but I only recently tried it. SO GOOD.  Below: Natural Grocer's mini haul...
 Beans, creamer, dried mango (currently addicted), sweet potato, carrots, zucchini, hummus, spaghetti, fine udon.

I've been going to acupuncture the last two weeks, and have a month left of prescribed treatment for allergies and such.  While I'm not sure it really works, it is relaxing.  I'm currently binge-watching season 1 of Amazon Prime's "Sneaky Pete", and it is thoroughly enjoyable.

Something New

I ate much of the same through the weekend, so I thought I'd spare you a millionth photo of avocado toast, soup, and quinoa salad.  The last couple of days I have been trying new items:

 Vega Vanilla with frozen banana, and lemon water.
 Tofu and kale sauteed in peanut sauce and jasmine rice.
